Exterminators use different types of methods as a way to rid your home of any pest, such as termites, which are notorious for causing tremendous damage to the homestead. The termidor guarantees 100 percent results. It kills termites as soon as it comes in contact with them. It not only kills the termite but ensures the total protection of your home for the remaining days to come if ever there was going to be a another invasion.

The other way that the exterminators are able to fight off any pest problems that may have infested your home is by placing locators that sense termites all around the house and even outside the homestead. This technique enables the exterminators to detect where the creatures are mostly concentrated which is usually their colony. After this is done, the experts will place a substance that can kill most of the worker termites. This eliminates the natural food supply to the colony and the termites population.

Another technique that the exterminators may use is to dig a shallow trench around the homestead about four to six inches deep. The termidor is then placed in the trench. Usually, they would use four gallons for every ten feet. Homes with cemented floors usually have the cement drilled so that the termidor can be fed into the soil. Afterward, the holes are cemented after being swept clean.

When exterminators are faced with an indoor infestation, a termidor foam is mixed and injected into tiny areas that are hard to reach such as slab openings. The termidor foam can be absorbed by wood without damaging it, while protecting it against termites. Sometimes, exterminators will need to drill holes in the slab foundation to inject the termidor foam inside. Don't worry if the holes make your home look ugly. All holes are covered later.

When the exterminator concludes that all the termites have completely been killed, it is usually recommended that after every four months the exterminators come back to inspect your home so as to ensure that it is safe from any pest or that none of the pests have returned.

Using rodent, rat or mouse poison in your home is a very serious matter to consider, especially if you have children or pets. Every year, over 10,000 children are poisoned with rodenticides. Rodenticides are also known as mouse poison or rat poison. They are used to kill rodents. Some work with one dose while others take multiple doses to be effective.

Children under 6 years old can be poisoned accidentally by ingesting almost everything they see. Some formulations of rodent poison come in green pellet shapes or blocks that can resemble candy or food to a child. Also small children learn by putting things in their mouths. "Infants explore everything with their mouths," says Dr. Carla Fry, a registered psychologist in Vancouver. "Infants learn about their environment by sucking and chewing on objects." Having a Mice Control two-year old I can attest to the truth in this. My wife and I are constantly telling her to take this or that out of her mouth.

There are three types of rodent poison: 1. anticoagulants which cause the rodent or rat to die from eating them. This happens by blocking vitamin K from the animal that ingests it. Vitamin K is essential for blood coagulation. Without it, you will bleed out. This poison kills in one to two weeks and can work in one dose or may take multiple doses. 2. Zinc phosphide is a compound that reacts with stomach acid to create phosphine gas. This gas kills very quickly and can last for up to three days. 3. Calciferols, also known as vitamin D, can be dangerous in small amounts. It causes an excess of calcium in the bloodstream, which can lead to heart attacks and kidney disease.

For rodent poison to be effective, it should be placed in open areas such as the floor, where small children can easily access it. Pets are also susceptible to poisoning if they eat rat poison. Every year, thousands of pets are poisoned by rodent poison or secondary poisoning.

I personally try my best not to use rat or mouse poison when treating a home that has children or pets in it. If I must use a rodenticide I will place it in an inaccessible location like the attic.

First, if you have a rodent problem in your home or business, it is because the rats or mice are invading from the outside. I mean mice just don't pop out of the thin air into your house. They are known to be able to get in through openings as small as a dime. The first course of action to solve your rodent problem should be to seal any access points they are getting in at and set traps. The last course of action should be to put down rat poison.

The best way to deal with a rodent, mouse, or rat problem is to have it handled by a licensed pest control company. This is especially important if you have small children.
